Air Force 1 was the first shoe released from Nike with an air cushioning. When released in 1982 it was technologicaly revolutionary. Technological evolution did not stop there of course, but the AF 1 never went out of popularity. Nike designers took the most valuable resource, AIR, and found a way to put it into the insole of the shoe. Its legacy has been carried on throughout the years, and has blessed the feet of everyone from pro basketball players to the kids on the playground, everywhere from hardwood to concrete, and has been passed down.

Many different types of Air Force Ones have been produced since the date of their original release. There have been so many exclusives, special editions, and varieties of colorways that not even a superior sneakerhead could possibly have ever single pair. They have been issued in low top versions, mid tops, and high tops, and although their original purpose is basketball, many consumers today wear them strictly for show.
